Religious education classes begin Wednesday at Holy Family Church. Mass will be at 6 p.m. Afterward, the students will go to their classrooms to meet their teachers.

  • St. Theresa's Society of Holy Family Church will have its first meeting of the new year at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 20 in the basement of the rectory, 311 E. Ninth St., Eudora. All women of the parish are invited to attend.

The group normally meets the second Wednesday of each month, but was moved back one week because of religious education classes.

  • "A Day of Boundless Joy," a women's day of enrichment, will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 21 at Savior Pastoral Center, 12601 Parallel Pkwy., Kansas City, Kan.

The workshop is for Catholic women to connect with their faith, prayer, sacraments, Catholic tradition, music and stories from inspirational speakers.

  • Archbishop Joseph Naumann will have a Mass of Remembrance at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 17 at Savior Pastoral Center, for all who have experienced the loss of a child before birth, through stillbirth or in early birth.

  • The annual Crop Walk will be Sept. 24 at Vinland Elementary School.

Registration begins at 1 p.m. and the walk begins at 1:30 p.m.

Anyone interesting in walking is asked to call Lorelei Springer at 542-3850 or Diane Massey 542-3110 for a sponsor sheet.

A portion of the proceeds will be distributed to local food pantries.

Snacks for the walkers are also needed.

Snacks requested are cookies, crackers, fruit and lemonade.

  • The Eudora United Methodist Church's Neighbors Helping Neighbors work day will be Sept. 16.

Volunteer help is needed. Work includes light carpentry and maintenance.

Anyone interested in helping is asked to call Eugene Westerhouse at 542-3837.

  • Eudora United Methodist Church provides children's church service during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday services. The children attend the first part of the adult service with their parents and are dismissed for their unique worship service after the children's sermon. They are invited to join their parents for communion on the first Sunday of each month.

  • The Rev. Michael Tomson-DeGreeff will have "Coffee with the Pastor" for potential new members of the Eudora United Methodist Church from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Sept. 24 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Eudora Chapel, east on 10th Street to 1003 John L. Williams Drive.

The community is invited to attend.

  • The Chancel Choir at Eudora United Methodist Church has resumed rehearsals and will meet at 7:30 p.m. each Wednesday at Salem Chapel, 725 Church St.

It is not necessary to be a member of the Eudora UMC to join.
