SFAAP picnic planned

September 14, 2006

The annual Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant picnic dinner for all former employees and families will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 24 in building number 21 north at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, 2120 Harper St., Lawrence. The doors open at noon.

Those planning to attend are asked to bring a dish to serve at least 10 people, as well as bread, drinks and table service. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed. Tables and chairs are provided.

A donation of $1 per person to cover expenses, cost of copying, postage for mailers and cost of the building is suggested.

The fairgrounds are on the east side of Lawrence, just off Kansas Highway 10. If coming from the east on Highway 10, turn north at the first stop light on Harper Street. The fairgrounds are just west of the once Farmland Industries.

Help is needed to organize a program, organize the food, assist with registration and/or clean up afterward. Anyone who can help is asked to call a committee member at one of the numbers below.
