Parade winners show sesquicentennial spirit

Alexis Bishop and Brooke Kornmueller's float "Small Town Girls" won the 150th birthday theme grand prize in the children's parade at Friday's Eudora CPA Picnic.

The Eudora 4-H Club's float "Happy 150th Birthday" won the grand prize for its 150th birthday theme in the grand parade at Saturday's Eudora CPA Picnic.

Other winners in the children's parade were "It's Your Birthday," Mara Oleson and Samantha Gregory, first; "Eudora Circus Train," Ted Scribner, Marcus, Tayler and Brandon Eddings and Dylan and Tylour Monahan, second; "Aloha Team," Alexis and Kale Frost and Braden Nixon, third; "Floating Thru History," Anna Smoots and friends, fourth; "Partying for 150 Years," Mattie Beers, Sara Brown, Taylor Powell and Tiffany Dudley, fifth; "Happy Birthday Eudora," Brown family, sixth; "Soak Up the Sun," Brooklyn and Rylynn Helzer, seventh; "Eudora Fire Department," Lehmann, Manley and Pyle families, eighth; Eudora Summer Reading Program, ninth; and 150 Years of Summer Fun," Lauren Gabriel and Ellie Beers, 10th.

Winners in the CPA grand parade were "Small Town Girls," Alexis Bishop and Brooke Kornmueller, first; "Celebrate Eudora's 150th," Eudora Cub Scouts, second; "Eudora Circus Train," Ted Scribner, Marcus, Tayler and Brandon Eddings and Dylan and Tylour Monahan, third; and "Party Like a Rock Star," Mattie Beers, Sara Brown, Darian White and Tiffany Dudley, fourth.

Jim Cannon took first place for his antique automobile entry, which was a 1954 Ford Pickup.

Jason Grems took first place for his antique tractor entry, which was a 1942 Farmall M.s
