Accident hospitalizes one
A McLouth man was flown to a Kansas City area hospital Sunday afternoon after falling from a roof in Eudora.
Kevin Brauer, a 37-year-old construction worker, fell from the roof of a single-story home while sweeping snow from the roof, said Kari Wempe, a Douglas County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman. The home is under construction.
Wempe said a neighbor in the 400 block of East 2200 Road heard the man yelling for help while hunched over a straw bale.
The man was flown by air ambulance to the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., Wempe said.
Wempe could not comment on the nature of his injuries and the hospital could not confirm whether he was still a patient.
