Obituary: Raymond M. Lee

1948-2007

Services for Raymond Michael "Mike" Lee, 59, Lawrence, were Tuesday, Jan. 23, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Lee died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 10, 1948, in Lawrence, the son of Raymond Howard and Arvilla Wells Lee.

Mr. Lee was a lifelong resident of Lawrence. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1966 and earned a bachelor's degree from Kansas State University.

He was a machine operator at Lawrence Paper Co.

Mr. Lee was active in AA for 23 years and was a member of the Wednesday Night Bridge Club.

Survivors include his mother, Arvilla Lee, Lawrence; two daughters, Jennifer Schweda, Baldwin City, and Rebecca Lee, Ozawkie; two sons, Raymond Allen Lee, Eudora, and Jordan Haag, Lawrence; a brother, Fred Lee, Lawrence; two sisters, Susan Lee, Austin, Texas, and Barbara Landa, Powhatan, Va.; and seven grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Operation WildLife or the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence 66044.
