Prayer time
St. Paul United Church of Christ will have "A Time of Prayer" during Lent from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and March 27 and April 3 in the sanctuary of the church, Eighth and Church streets.
The gathering is a time for personal prayers or concerns for friends, family and the needs of the community and world.
The service is open to the community.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
