Obituary: Stanley T. House
Funeral services for Stanley T. House, 84, Eudora, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Centenary United Methodist Church in North Lawrence. Graveside services with military honors will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.
Mr. House died Monday, March 26, 2007, at Eudora Nursing Center.
He was born Dec. 8, 1922, in Topeka, the son of Thomas and Olive Phillips House. He graduated from Liberty Memorial High School and then attended two years of business college.
Mr. House worked as a postal clerk with the U.S. post office. He was a 70-year member of Centenary United Methodist Church and was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, American Legion Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 and the Autumn Club.
He married Agnes V. Spitzli on July 30, 1944, in Lawrence. She died Jan. 8, 2007.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen Sue Seetin and Nancy Cornelius, both of Lawrence; four sons, Stanley E. House and Fred House, both of Kansas City, Kan., Ron D. House, Norman, Okla., and Kent House, Gardner; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Four sisters, Helen House, Lorraine Barnes, Margaret Holstrom and Jackie Speakman; a brother, Phillip House; and a grandson, Daniel W. House, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary in Lawrence.
