Graduation to feature former teacher
The Eudora High School class of 2007 is set to take flight.
Graduation ceremonies are set for 1 p.m. Saturday in the gym at Eudora High School, 2203 Church St.
School officials estimate diplomas will be given to 106 graduating seniors.
The processional will be followed by a video presentation featuring baby photos of the graduates.
This year's speaker will be Scott Stein, a former teacher and boys basketball coach at Eudora High School. He currently teaches at Kansas City Schlagel High School.
When offered a list of possible speakers that included former teachers, a group of seniors chose him, Eudora High School assistant principal Ron Abel said.
Stein's speech will by followed by speeches from the class valedictorian and salutatorian.
The valedictorian and salutatorian won't be finalized until Thursday when grades from college courses will be recorded.
The student speakers will be determined by grade point average and judged on a written speech, Eudora High School counselor Paul Walrod said.
The Eudora High School combined choirs and senior choir members will each perform a song.
Eudora Board of Education members Joe Pyle and Brenda Clark will present diplomas to the graduating class.
Following the processional, the seniors will gather in the commons area for a reception.
