I would just like to say thank you again to all the Douglas County and Eudora Emergency Service departments that helped make this year's Safety Fair a success.
A special thanks goes out to Chief Greg Dahlem for being such a good sport by climbing onto the wet seat of the dunk tank and to the Eudora Sonic and Gambino's Pizza for the generous donations of free coupons for the kids. Once again we were able to serve plenty of Pyle's smoked sausages, hot dogs and drinks all day to event goers with the wonderful help from Gary Wolford and his family and Daniel Davidson.
We had a great turn out and were able to provide much vital information to township and city residents alike. In addition, seven children were fitted for bicycle helmets and two new applicants have shown an interest in attending the Township Fire Department's next recruit class, which will be starting soon.
Anyone interested in joining the Fire Department can still receive requirement information by calling 542-2800, or attending our monthly business meeting, which takes place at 7:30 p.m. he first Monday of every month at the Township Fire Department, 310 E 20th St.
