Members of Boy Scout Troop 64, Cub Scout Pack 3064, Eudora 4-H Club, Girl Scouts, and the EHS Government Class collected more than 2500 cans and packages of non-perishable food for the Eudora Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry April 19.
The youth spread out all over Eudora, collecting the bags of food and delivering them to the St. Paul United Church of Christ, where the food pantry is housed.
The annual project started in 1988, when Boy Scouts of America initiated a "Good Turn For Your Community" program to help supply food pantries around the country.
The program has been expanded in Eudora to include Girl Scouts, Eudora 4-H Club, the Eudora High School government class and Cub Scout Pack 3064.
The Food Pantry is open on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Anyone needing food at other times may call Laura Klotz (542-3876) or St. Paul Church of Christ to arrange a time.
