Winchester Road under construction

City road crews will be sealing Winchester Road on Aug. 27 and 28.
The city council approved the work during a meeting July 28.
Since many drivers have been using Winchester as alternate route rather than traveling on the Church Street bridge, city officials ask that drivers exercise patience and caution.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
