Community support appreciated
December 4, 2008
The recent fire at our new church building has been a devastating loss for us of the Eudora United Methodist Church congregation. The outpouring of support and prayers from the community of Eudora has been such a blessing to us.
Thank you for all of the offers to help us cleanup and rebuild. Fortunately, our insurance company is handling the cleanup and rebuilding process. If there is an opportunity to help, we will certainly get the word out.
For now we appreciate your continued encouragement and prayers. We are having Sunday worships at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. at the Warren-McElwain Chapel.
In Christian Love,
The Rev. Michael Tomson-DeGreeff
The Eudora United Methodist Church Family

Point of View
What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
Question of the week
A group organized for the purpose of promoting and supporting fatherhood by raising awareness of the value of fathers in Douglas County is being formed. It hasn’t been named. Which name would appeal most to you?
