Eighth-grade basketball

January 10, 2008

The eight-grade varsity basketball season got off to a 1-1 start Saturday in Wellsville.

The day started with a 30-21 win over the Eagles of Wellsville. A balanced scoring attack and great defense got the Cards season off to a 1-0 start.

In the second game Eudora struggled with turnovers and getting points on offense, which led to the 51-29 defeat against Baldwin.

The team hit the road again Monday, again heading to Wellsville for a battle with the Eagles. After a hot start pushing the score to 27-10 at half time, Eudora cooled off a bit and played sluggish down the stretch, but held on for a 42-31 victory. Balanced scoring and good defense were keys to victory.

The Cards resume their season Thursday on the road at Louisburg.
