ECKCE board meeting minutes
July 3, 2008
The regular meeting of the East Central Kansas Cooperative in Education Board of Directors was held by conference call, which was initiated at the Cooperative Central Office in Baldwin City to enable public access via speaker phone.
Members participating in the conference call were Board President Blaine Cone, Ande Parks, Susan Rader, Belinda Rehmer, Director Caren Lowe, and Clerk of the Board Sue Martin, Clerk of the Board. Jim Martin and Fred Schnoke were unable to participate.
• Paraeducator and interpreter salary schedules were established.
Rehmer made a motion to approve the 10 cent increase on the base of the Paraeducator and Interpreter salary schedules as presented.
• The 2008-09 budget was approved
Accepted the resignation of Barbara Flett, Wellsville Occupational Therapist.
• Approve the certified contract for Amber Sabharwall, Wellsville Occupational
Therapist.
• Approved the contracted Services for 2008-09 for services with Bloom & Associates Therapy and Sarah Niileksela, Music Therapist.
Approve Contracts of 75 paraeducators for 2008-09
• Paraeducator Leave Policy Amendment was approved.
During the first year of employment, the paraeducator shall be granted 10 days of discretionary leave to be allocated in five-day increments the first day of each semester. In the event of serious illness of the employee or family member during the first semester, as substantiated by doctor’s notes, the director shall have the authority to advance the second semester days for use by the employee.
