- R.J. and Grace Jubber are pleased to announce the adoption of Mia Joelle Jubber on June 23, 2008. Mia was born May 13, 2008 in Atlanta and weighed 5 pounds and 15.8 ounces. She was 181/2 inches tall. Mia also was welcomed home by her brothers James and Joel. Her grandparents are Mark and Diane Chrislip, Eudora, and Ron and Denise Jubber, Eugene, Ore.
- Matthias and Cathleen Martin, Crystal Lake, Ill., are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Bridget Jane Martin. Bridget was born on July 1, 2008 in Barrington, Ill., weighing 7 pounds 7 ounces and was 19 inches long. Bridget was welcomed home by her sister Maria and her brother William. Her maternal grandparents are Larry and Millie Donahue, Frankfort. Her paternal grandparents are Joseph Martin and Patricia Grosdidier, both of Eudora. Great-grandparents are Louise Reust, Frankfort, and Norbert and Margaret Grosdidier, Eudora.

As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
