EHS teacher attends Bill of Rights Institute
Eudora High School teacher Robyn Kelso was one of 25 social studies teachers from across the country the Bill of Rights Institute welcomed on July 14 to16 to Washington, D.C.
During the three-day trip, the teachers explored the grounds of George Washington’s Mount Vernon, George Mason’s Gunston Hall, and the National Archives, in addition to examining the writings of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison.
The program was designed for teachers who had never visited the Washington, D.C., area. Participants will draw upon their experiences to create lessons and activities for their students.
The program was made possible by grants from the Abell-Hanger Foundation and the Fasken Foundation of Texas; the Allegheny Foundation of Pennsylvania; and the Fred C. and Mary R. Koch Foundation of Kansas.
