Beta Sigma Phi holiday auction

Community service sorority Beta Sigma Phi will have it holiday auction at 2 p.m. Dec. 6 at Eudora Middle School.

Items available for bid will range from various food and crafts. Proceeds from the event will go toward the Angel Tree Fund. For more information, call Sherri Proffitt at (785) 542-3919 or Amber Moody at (785) 423-5173.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?

As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
