Eudora Police Chief Greg Dahlem retires

February 18, 2010

After 23 years of service, Eudora Police Chief Greg Dahlem is retiring.

Dahlem, 50, will officially leave the post April 1 and said the department would remain in fine shape because of the dedication of its officers.

"He was instrumental in moving the department forward and we thank him for his years of service," Eudora City Administrator John Harrenstein said.

Harrenstein will speak with Eudora City Council members about the process of filling the position and hoped to be close to a decision April 1.

The city also is in the process of hiring a fire chief after the departure of Randy Ates in January.

This is a bit of a concern, isn't it? So far Eudora has lost:

-city administrator -building inspector -fire chief -police chief

Is this a pattern?

First i would like to say that i could never be happier, and secondly i would like to say that we need to get someone that knows what they are doing, and knows how to control a town.
