Heartbreak is something the Eudora Cardinals want to avoid this year. For the second time in three years, Eudora lost in the first round of the playoffs. Last season it was a 13-8 defeat to Basehor-Linwood. Eudora also dropped its final regular season game to Baldwin City, finishing the year 8-2.

About the first week of August every year, there’s something about the smell of freshly cut grass and a warm breeze that makes me think of football season. From watching the NFL to college and high school, football is a sport that communities openly support, especially in Eudora.

Mallory Reese is behind the wall of players standing and watching the team kick field goals to end the day’s practice.
