Funeral services for Lawrence K. Hunsaker, 76, Elwood, were Wednesday at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel in De Soto. Graveside services were at Wellsville Cemetery.
Mr. Hunsaker died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009.
He was born March 13, 1931, in Centerville, the son of Kenneth and Hazel Hunsaker.
Mr. Hunsaker lived in Eudora for 45 years. He worked at KP&L for 40 years and retired in 1992.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling in his camper and fishing.
He married JoAnn Tesch on May 23, 1954. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Larry and wife Paula, Elwood, and Gene, Kincaid; seven grandchildren, Chad and Diane Hunsaker, Shawn and Tammy Jonas, Ryan Dancer, and Sissy and John Conrad; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Roy and wife Sheila, Olathe.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
The family suggests memorials to Davita Dialysis, 5514 Corporate Drive, St. Joseph, MO 64507.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?

As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
