Should the city of Shawnee do more to encourage recycling?

Jean Nelson ( in Shawnee) says...
“Yes. While recycling comes at a price, the longer we wait to get started the greater cost will be. We need to extend the life of our landfill and be better stewards of our resources.”
Pam Cooper ( in Shawnee) says...
“Yes, residential recycling should be mandatory and I'd like to have the same ability to recycle at my business as I do at home.”
Peter Ehrlich ( in Shawnee) says...
“Yes! The ‘pay-as-you-throw’ concept would be a win-win. If unlimited recycling is provided at a nominal cost and trash charged on a per bag basis residents would be more likely to recycle. It is an equitable approach. Recycling is easy, green and the responsibility of all.”
Cathy Boch ( in Shawnee) says...
“Shawnee has curbside recycling. People should do the responsible thing and use the current service. We should not have further mandates that would require an increase of fees.”
David Fabac ( in Shawnee) says...
“With a volunteer program, you'll never get full participation. The city will eventually need to come up with either an incentive or mandatory recycling plan that is appealing to residents of Shawnee.”
