PRODUCING HEAT INDEX VALUES OF AROUND 105 DEGREES OR SLIGHTLY
HIGHER WILL MAINLY FOCUS SOUTH OF A LINE FROM YORK-MINDEN- ALMA...
INCLUDING NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS.
...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING...
* TEMPERATURE...HEAT INDEX VALUES ARE EXPECTED TO CLIMB TO NEAR
OR SLIGHTLY ABOVE 105 DEGREES THIS AFTERNOON INTO EARLY THIS
EVENING...BEFORE FALLING TO SAFER LEVELS BY NIGHTFALL.
* IMPACTS...BEING EXPOSED TO EXTREME HEAT OVER A PROLONGED
PERIOD MAY RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT HEALTH ISSUES. YOUNG CHILDREN
AND THE ELDERLY ARE ESPECIALLY AT RISK OF HEAT RELATED
