Mass of Christian Burial for Paul C. Sommer, 92, Eudora, was Monday, Dec. 23, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Eudora. Burial was in Holy Family Cemetery, Eudora.

Mr. Sommer died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 15, 1910, in Scott, Okla., the son of John Hester and Anna Marie (Ziesenis) Sommer.

Mr. Sommer served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a staff sergeant. He was post office clerk in Eudora for 37 years. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where he served on the church council and cemetery committee for several years. He also was a member of Eudora Area Historical Society and National Rural Letter Carrier Association. He had also been a volunteer fireman for Eudora.

He married Christine R. Selzer on July 23, 1935, in Kansas City, Kan. She died Oct. 26, 2002.

Survivors include a sister, Edna Zillner, Lawrence.

The family suggests memorials to the Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery Maintenance Fund, sent in care of the mortuary, 1003 John L. Williams Drive, Eudora 66025.
