Nila, Padilla exchange vows
Miriam S. Nila and Matthew J. Padilla, both of Manhattan, married Saturday, June 5, 2004, at the University Christian Church in Manhattan with David Pape officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Alejandra V. Centeno, Eudora, and Juan M. Nila, Torrington, Wyo. She is the granddaughter of Cristina Luna, Lancaster, Calif., Vicente Varela, Guadalupe Rangel de Nila and Juan Nila, all of Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico.
The groom is the son of Sue Padilla, Newton, Iowa, formerly of St. John, and John Padilla, Topeka. He is the grandson of Elva Oaks, Everest, John Padilla, Topeka, the late Moulder Oaks and the late Frances Padilla.
Maid of honor was Renea E. Ash, Georgia. Best man was Charles B. Krumins, Manhattan. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Padilla, Topeka, sister of the groom, Jesua A. Rodrigues, Torrington, Wyo., sister of the bride, and Michelle Nila and Ali Nila, both of Eudora, sisters of the bride. Groomsmen and ushers were Will Klusner and Allen Hisken, both of Manhattan.
Ring bearer was Kendall Parsons, cousin of the groom, and the flower girl was Maggie Parsons, cousin of the groom.
A dinner and dance followed the ceremony at the Blue River Room in Manhattan.
The bride graduated from Torrington High School, Torrington, Wyo., and from Kansas State University in May 2004. She is employed with the Las Cruces (N.M.) public schools.
The groom graduated from St. John High School in St. John and from Kansas State University in December 2003. He is pursuing his master's degree in archeology at New Mexico State University.
The couple live in Las Cruces, N.M.
