Obituary: Eddie F. Rodrigues
Memorial services for Eddie F. Rodrigues, 38, Eudora, will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at The Barn in Valley Falls. Additional services will be at a later date in California.
Mr. Rodrigues died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 3, 1968, in Hayward, Calif., the son of Eduardo F. and Maria L. Machado Rodrigues. He graduated from California State at Long Beach with a degree in medical microbiology.
Mr. Rodrigues served in the United States Marine Corps during Operation Desert Storm. He began his working career in private industry. He later began teaching chemistry and physics and coaching football and basketball at Peabody High School for two years. He served as a health inspector for the state of Kansas for a year before returning to teaching chemistry and science at Lawrence High School in 2006.
He married Jennifer A. McLeod on Sept. 6, 2003, in Las Vegas. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Nicole Rodrigues, Temecula, Calif.; his mother, Artesia, Calif.; and a sister, Terri Botello, Stanton, Calif.
The family suggests memorials to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or the City of Hope Cancer Center in Duarte, Calif., sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1260, Lawrence 66044. The family also encourages people to consider becoming blood and bone marrow donors in Mr. Rodrigues' memory.
