Girls JV basketball team rallies past Sumner
The Eudora girls junior varsity basketball team rallied in the fourth quarter and beat Sumner Academy 28-23 Monday at Eudora.
The Cardinals trailed 21-15 to start the fourth, but Eudora started the quarter on a 7-2 run to cut the lead to one. Then the Cardinals scored six points in the final 20 seconds to come out victorious.
EHS boys fall at Paola
The Eudora boys basketball team led Paola for three quarters, but couldn’t hold the lead in the fourth and fell 49-47 Friday at Paola.
Eudora led the whole way until Paola hit a three-pointer that tied the score with just a few minutes to play. Paola later scored the game-winner on a field goal with five seconds to play.
Justin Ballock scored 23 points, Drew Noble 10, Evan Cleveland 6, Brian Katzfey 4 and Hawley Montgomery 4.
Eudora (8-5) will play Friday at Louisburg.
Stephanie Orth scored 6, Danelle Topil 2, Valerie Pringle 8, Ashlyn Jackson 4, Lauren Vaughn 2, Tanessa Balluch 2 and Beverly Virtue 2.
Eudora will play Friday at Louisburg.
EHS JV boys falls
The Eudora boys junior varsity team lost 58-47 Friday at Paola. Eudora will play Friday at Louisburg.
EHS baseball fundraiser announced
The Eudora baseball team is having a fundraiser to raise money for the upcoming season. The team will be selling raffle tickets in the commons area at each home basketball game for the rest of the season.
Ticket prices for the raffle are $1 for one ticket or $5 for seven tickets. The drawing will take place during halftime of the boys game against Spring Hill on Feb. 25. Participants do not need to be present to win.
Top prize is a Kansas University basketball signed by current players and coaches. Other prizes donated from local merchants also will be awarded.

As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
