Obituary: Ruth A. Lingner

1935-2007

Funeral Services for Ruth A. Lingner, 71, Lawrence, were Monday, Aug. 27, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Lingner died Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept. 14, 1935, in Leaf River, Ill., the daughter of Benjamin LeRoy and Della Dawson Cave. She moved to Lawrence in March 1988.

Mrs. Lingner and her husband started Landcrafters Lawn Care in Lawrence.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Lingner; seven sons, Michael W. Hopping, Corpus Christi, Texas, Elwyn L. Van Meter, Missouri, Russell L. Hopping, Eudora, Robert G. Van Meter, Oslo, Norway, LeRoy R. Van Meter, Herscher, Ill, Ryan C. Lingner, Carl Junction, Mo., Adam W. Lingner, Perry, Iowa; and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Meyer.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Gideons, sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence 66044.
