New city administrator’s resumé impressive
We haven’t had the opportunity to meet Scott Hildebrand, hired last week to be Eudora’s third city administrator, but we are impressed with his resumé. That puts us in much the same position as the Eudora City Council before it scheduled interviews with applicants for the job.
That resumé is impressive, and we certainly understand why it went to the top of the pile during the selection process. It tells us Hildebrand followed up an undergraduate degree in business and finance from Oklahoma State with a law degree from Washburn University in 1999. After a stint in a law firm, he was a staff attorney for the Kansas League of Municipalities for three years before taking a job with the city of Lenexa with mixed legal and advisory duties.
It is an interesting resumé, and seems made to order for Eudora. Few would argue the city could use someone with a solid legal background and, in the current recession, a business and financial background will be helpful.
We have also had the opportunity to meet a number of Lenexa city staffers. Several were department heads in Johnson County government before being hired away by Lenexa and all were impressive and open.
Hildebrand’s résumé gives us high expectations. We look forward to his introduction to the community.
